Pan-Seared Bluefin Tuna with Asian Marinade


8 oz tuna steaks , 3/4″ thick
2 tbsp dark sesame oil
2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp ginger root
1 clove garlic, sliced
11 tsp fresh lime juicetsp sesame seeds for garnish
1 scallion, thinly sliced for garnish


  1. Mix marinade ingredients together in a container large enough to hold tuna. Put tuna steaks in and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for one hour, turning occasionally.
  2. Heat non-stick skillet to high heat. Sear tuna steaks 1 minute on each side.
  3. Remove steaks from pan and slice into 1/4 inch slices on the diagonal. Sprinkle with scallion slices and sesame seeds.
  4. Makes two servings.
