Announcing FREE Compost Drop-off Pilot at the Farmers Market!

In collaboration with Greenovate Boston, the Mayor’s Office of Food Initiatives and Office of New Urban Mechanics, and Renewable Waste Solutionswe are thrilled to announce a new residential compost pilot.  Beginning August 15th and continuing through the end of the market season in October, shoppers at the Bowdoin Geneva Farmers Market will have the opportunity to drop off compost collected from their home kitchens for FREE!

Food scraps will be transported to Rocky Hill Farm in Saugus, Massachusetts where they’ll be transformed into high-quality organic fertilizer to support local, sustainable agriculture in the MetroBoston area – including urban agriculture projects within the city limits!
