The Amazing Farmers Market Race

Earlier this month, Governor Patrick proclaimed August 19-25 Massachusetts Farmers Market Week.  In honor of this momentous occasion, we’ve designed a celebratory challenge in the style of the famed television series The Amazing Race.

On Tuesday, August 21st, our fearless summer interns for food access initiatives will be traversing the city visiting each and every open market! They’ll be completing challenges each step of the way, garnering signatures from supporters of Boston’s amazing farmers markets – as we show that they are the best in the Commonwealth (and indeed the country!).  And best of all, they’ll be drawing lots of attention from passersby as they’ll be clad in our famous market mascot costumes.

We’ll be posting our clues as we go, but for now check out the official rules and race route:

Keep your eyes peeled for us and follow us as we live tweet throughout our journey from market to market as our summer youth compete against the clock in a race around the city!
