Volunteering at the Dorchester Winter Market

This Sunday, Food in the ‘Hood Committee members joined staff from the Bowdoin Street Health Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to promote our healthy food access initiatives to the broader Dorchester community at the Winter Farmers’ Market.  The team pumped up the crowd with our veggie costumes and photo opps for market customers.  Stellar musician, Bethel Steele, even gave us a special broccoli serenade as part of her performance.  You can visit the market every Sunday from 12-3pm at the Great Hall at the Codman Square Health Center (6 Norfolk Street) through March.  Meet some wonderful farmers – our pals from Powisset, Silverbrook, and Oakdale – who are making their amazing bounty available to us year-round!
