Today is Food Day, a nationwide celebration and a movement toward healthy, affordable and sustainable food. Across the country today (and throughout this week), communities are coming together to dedicate themselves to these principles. Join us at the Bowdoin Geneva Farmers Market this Thursday, October 25th to celebrate an amazing season and Food Day, a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. The priorities of this effort are to:
- Promote safer, healthier diets
- Support sustainable and organic farms
- Reduce hunger
- Reform factory farms to protect the environment
- Support fair working conditions for food and farm workers
